1. Heightened senses; gills; behavioral changes; increased thirst; pressure/cold resistance - Incarceron begins to become more possessive of his belongings, and he starts to consume more water - not dramatically so, but it is more than before. His senses of sight and smell also become more potent, and gills open on the sides of his neck. His bones become denser, and his body begins to adapt for deep ocean pressure, which initially appears as an increase in body weight. His body also begins to produce natural antifreeze, letting him tolerate colder temperatures with less discomfort and personal risk.

MONSTER SOUNDS - After the above changes, he starts making more animal-like noises, which develop very slowly over the course of the entire changing process: dolphin-esque clicking when happy or pleased, crocodilian hissing as a warning, and a loud, seemingly inorganic snapping sound, used at the same frequency as a sand cat's spit to scare others away. ]

2. Skin; ears; arm fins; hoarding instinct; claws; teeth - His possessive behavior develops into specifically hoarding, and he starts stealing shiny/silvery objects, particularly silverware. A rash spreads over his shoulders and down his arms, and the inflamed skin peeling off to reveal a new layer of smooth, silvery skin. Fins emerge from his ears and forearms, and webbing spreads between his fingers. His sense of hearing becomes much more acute, sensitive to sounds underwater like shifting sand over a longer distance. Sound on land becomes uncomfortably loud; not to the point of pain, but still enough to drive him away from large gatherings on land. The aforementioned snapping vocalization is not loud enough to hurt him when produced underwater, but it will cause pain and a slight headache if used above/outside water. Retractable claws also appear on his fingertips - they are not fully retractable and will remain sharp when sheathed, but unsheathing extends them to nearly twice their length. Lastly, his teeth fuse into larger plate-like mandibles, reminiscient of those of dunkleosteus. He still has lips, and his teeth are fully hidden when his mouth is closed.

3. Tail; dorsal/leg fins; increased thirst - Incarceron's thirst will become even more drastic, shifting from a desire to drink lots of water to a powerful need to be in water, and the quantity he drinks will increase even more. A bright red dorsal fin will emerge on his back, just below his shoulders, and a longer, ribbon-like fin will appear at the base of this fin, extending down the backs of his legs on land. Fins will appear on his calves on land, and his legs will also develop silvery scales in the same way his arms did. When he ventures into water, a long, fish-like tail will replace his legs.

4. More behavioral changes - He will become territorial, acting aggressively to anyone who comes too close to his hoard, and he will become more reluctant to leave that area, even underwater. This will add to his irritability when on land - during these times he will become much more likely to attack people and resort to violence, and in general he will be restless and nervous, in addition to the usual fatigue. These changes will be much slower and more subtle than the preceding ones, and will mark the end of his initial transformation.

NOTE - The fins on his back and forearms will also have spiny rays at the front, which can release paralytic venom when touched or exposed to pressure (he cannot push this venom out of them by will, but he can push the rays themselves into a target to trigger this response).

--- ABOUT VENOM - Incarceron's venom attacks the muscles, and therefore is very painful to humans. The toxin does not spread very quickly, however, and full paralysis may require multiple stings or Incarceron may have to pursue a stung target for several hours. This venom has no effect on other venomous monsters aside from a mild itch at the site of the sting (two hours max, remedied with cold presses and anti-inflammatories). On nonvenomous monsters, the itch is more severe and covers a larger area (four hours max, same remedies), but monsters without natural antitoxin will develop flu-like muscle soreness about an hour after being stung, localized on the limb/body part that was stung (twelve hours max; painkillers work on this pain but do not remove the symptom - i.e, to avoid this ache your monster will have repeat doses). Incarceron's venom does not impede body/muscle movement in other monsters. This mechanism is much more of a tool for self-defense than a weapon, though it is possible to use it that way. Incarceron's venom is only fatal to humans with over five stings.

SECONDARY NOTE - Small bioluminescent red spots emerge with his scales, most noticably in two rows down his backside both on land and in water. He can't brighten or dim them by choice, but they will light up in response to adrenaline and to quick movement or vibration.

FOG FORM - After several months, Incarceron will develop a new form every time the fog rolls in, his face becoming more fish-like and comparable to that of deep-sea fish like anglers and gulper eels. His torso will elongate, his dorsal fin will be more pronounced, and his tail and legs will be present together in water and on land. His fingers and toes will be longer and his claws will be more pronounced and capable of injecting venom when unsheathed, but aside from these changes he will look the same. He will be hungrier, more aggressive, and more territorial during fog, even if he fed right before.
